Mei 2016 10-kloventrektocht

As the only Brit in the group, I was made very welcome. As my wife is Dutch, I can understand a bit of Dutch and the idea was for me to extend my vocabulary. However, after a few days we all slipped back into English (thanks guys). Our leader, RJ, kept us up to date about the walks and all what we needed to know i.e. the condition of the trails and also the recent history of Crete during the Second World War, which I found very interesting. The accommodation and travel arrangements were excellent, as were the evening meals and lunches. RJ was assisted by Marietta who was always there to help and Bas, RJs son, would find the answer to many obscure questions, due to his command of the Internet! Despite our differences, It took us no time to gel as a group, and we all supported one another, which was needed when faced with ropes, ladders, and scrambles, which I enjoyed tremendously. Thanks also to Angela and Stellios who drove us to and from the airport.
